Dumpster Diving

Dumpster Diving is something I have done. Actually quite fun. Free stuff. The best dive was in the town of Aspen Colorado in an alley behind a toy store. You guessed it, lots of perfectly good toys. I forget the organization they were given to but sure to please a bunch of kid's. Hard to believe how lazy people can be.

Now todays dumpster is a little different, we will be filling it up.

Back in the late 1800's, maybe into the early 1900's, the Moffit brothers were miners here in Kingston. As the story goes one of the brothers got married and so the town pitched in and build him a house. Well that house is no longer.

Two years ago a Kingston residence purchased the property for a song and felt the rotting Moffit place needed to go. Slowly neighbor's have been salvaging metal roofing, cool old hardware, wide rough cut boards from the old saw mill days and recently the T & G floors were removed.

Today I ordered up a 30 yard dumpster. We have 30 days!

Satomi continues to play with her wall. She's getting close.

There they are

There they are, the two missing pictures I wanted to include in the previous post:

Base Cabinets sitting in place. Stove will be on the left, Refrigerator on the right.

Just another view under the sink

Board yet?

Another day!

These clouds looked menacing over Emory Pass but all we heard was thunder as they moved on to somewhere else.  They could use the rain too.

Today up in the Timber Frame I installed the last two window casings (frames) in the kitchen over Satomi's lime plastered walls.

After that I started working on the gas line (black pipe) for the stove propane.

The black object below the gas line is a Dandy three way valve for our kitchen sink "Gray Water"  Now in this state, kitchen water is not considered gray water but since we don't live in the city, we do, so there.....

Hot on the left, cold on the right.

Tomorrow is commuting time. 9 miles to Hillsboro, 15 miles South on Highway 27 to Lake Valley and then 1.5 mile "IN" the Berrenda Creek gravel ranch road to do some repair work on a house out there.

You know the one, the one with a swimming pool and green grass, an actual lawn. It was either grass or or gravel. Nice people!

.5

Things come in halves:

.5 of an hour checking out a rattler crossing the highway last evening on our way home.

.5 of a load in our Astro van after a day of errands in Las Cruces

.5 of an inch or rain from Mondays nights rain

You can smell it!

Been smelling it for days. Now one can hear it. Not that it smells bad but from time to time it's quite loud and bright.

Bring it on....

the Rain

Sunday, just another day

Maybe just another day but what did you do today? We are never at a loss of things to do. The trick is to stay motivated. Coffee helps!

Satomi just continues to mix and plaster, mix and plaster, mix and....
Even our Cacti are busy
